Lynette Perez is an experienced trial lawyer who has successfully tried both criminal and civil cases to conclusion before juries. She is a former felony prosecutor and is licensed in both Arkansas and Texas. Her practice areas: Municipal Law, Criminal Defense, Real Estate, and Estate Planning. She is the author of FINDING GOD IN SIN CITY (HigherLife Publishing, 2015). Attorney Perez is a real estate investor and also serves as President of her family's residential remodeling business, Hammer & Gavel LLC - a licensed Arkansas construction company. She and her husband Eli have resided in Little Rock since 2020 and are parents of 8 adult children.
About Lynette Boggs-Perez
Lynette Perez made history when she was sworn in as a felony prosecutor for the 17th Judicial District in Arkansas. She is the first person of color to serve as a felony prosecutor in the history of White County since its founding in 1835. Prior to relocating to the Natural State in 2020, she worked in her own law firm, Lynette Boggs Law & Mediations, PC, as an attorney and mediator representing individuals and facilitating settlements in criminal, family, child custody, child welfare and juvenile justice cases in eight counties throughout south Texas, including Bexar County. She is licensed to practice law in both Texas and Arkansas.
Before she became a lawyer, Attorney Perez worked in both city and county government in Las Vegas, Nevada for 15 years. She is a former Assistant City Manager for the City of Las Vegas. In 1999, she became the first woman elected to lead a City Council ward in the history of that city. She is also a former Clark County Commissioner. President George W. Bush appointed her as one of his six citizen trustees of the United States Naval Academy to alongside 12 members of Congress. She represented Oregon in the 1990 Miss America Pageant.
Attorney Perez received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Public Administration, cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She received her Juris Doctorate degree at the from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio.
Affiliations
Attorney Perez has held elected office in both Nevada and Texas. Her most recent office was as the District 7 Trustee and Board Secretary of the Judson Independent School District in Live Oak, Texas. She holds professional memberships in the W. H. Flowers Law Society, San Antonio Black Lawyers Association, State Bar of Texas, State Bar of Arkansas and the Arkansas Bar Association. She is a member of and serves in the worship ministry of First North Little Rock Assemblies of God.
